How do I add an AI chatbot to Squarespace?
To add an AI chatbot to Squarespace, go to Settings > Advanced (Developer Tools on newer sites) > Code Injection, paste the SpideyChat code into the Footer box and save. Code Injection needs a Squarespace plan that includes it (not the entry plan). The assistant answers visitors from your site's content straight away.
Install it on Squarespace
First create your assistant in SpideyChat and copy its code from the Install tab. Then:
- 1Open Settings, then Advanced (called Developer Tools on newer sites), then Code Injection.
- 2Paste the code into the Footer box.
- 3Click Save.
Good to know on Squarespace
- Code Injection isn't included on Squarespace's entry plan. Check that your plan lists Code Injection before you start.
- Paste the code in the Footer field, not the Header, so it loads after your page content.
- Squarespace caches heavily. If the chat button doesn't show straight away, open the site in a private window.
