Customer support chatbot
A customer support chatbot that answers from your own content
Most support questions are the same twenty questions, asked at all hours. SpideyChat sits on your website, answers them from your own help pages and policies, and passes anything new or sensitive to a person with the visitor's details attached. It works in website chat. It doesn't answer phones or emails.
Free plan, no card needed. Paid plans from $9.99 a month.
What is a customer support chatbot?
A customer support chatbot is a chat assistant on a website that answers customers' questions from the business's own help content, such as policies, FAQs and product pages, and hands anything it can't resolve to a person. SpideyChat does this from your published pages 24/7, saves the visitor's contact details with each unresolved question and shows you which questions it couldn't answer.
What it does
Answers from your content
Reads your help pages, policies and product pages and answers only from them, so it doesn't invent a refund rule you don't have.
Knows when to stop
When it isn't sure, it says so and offers to pass the question on rather than guessing.
Hands over cleanly
Saves the question with the visitor's name and email and alerts your team. On Pro it also opens a numbered ticket in the support inbox, and a team member who is on duty can take over the chat live.
Shows the gaps
Logs every question it couldn't answer, so you can add the answer once and stop getting that email.
What it doesn’t do
- Answer phone calls, SMS, WhatsApp or social messages. It works on your website.
- Look up orders, deliveries, accounts or subscriptions. It answers from published content.
- Issue refunds or take payments. It explains your policy and hands the request to your team.
- Replace your helpdesk. It cuts the repeat questions that reach it.
Illustrative conversation
I ordered the wrong size. Can I swap it?
Yes. Exchanges are free within 30 days as long as the item is unworn with tags. Would you like the steps, or shall I pass this to the team?
Pass it on please, it's order 4471.
Will do. What email should the team reply to?
An illustrative example, not a real customer conversation. The policy wording comes from the business's own returns page.
Questions
Where does it get its answers?
From the content you give it: your website pages (one-click setup reads 10 pages on Free; the crawler on Starter and above reads more) and text you paste in. It answers only from that, and tells the visitor when it doesn't know.
What happens when it can't answer?
It says so, asks for the visitor's details and passes the question to your team by email. On Pro the question also lands as a numbered ticket in your support inbox, and if someone is on duty they can take over the chat live.
Does it work with my helpdesk?
There is no direct helpdesk integration today. You get email alerts, the leads and tickets inside SpideyChat, and a webhook you can point at your own tools.
How much does a customer support chatbot cost?
SpideyChat has a Free plan with about 375 replies a month, then $9.99 or $29.99 a month flat. Many support tools charge per conversation or per resolution instead, so the bill rises with volume.
